PROMOTING CHARACTER AND COMMUNITY

I’m Nick Quinn, and I’m asking for your vote in Division 13 for Kanawha County Magistrate. I will bring a fresh and unique perspective to the court. Born and raised in Kanawha County, I understand the challenges our communities face.

As a local small business owner and tattoo artist, I have spent my life building amicable relationships with community leaders, law enforcement, and residents from all walks of life. This, I believe, has prepared me to make sound decisions and ensure a fair legal process for all.

I hope you’ll follow my campaign as I help folks to have a better understanding of the duties of a magistrate, the importance of the position, and why I deserve your confidence.

People over policy

As your Magistrate, I pledge to be fair and impartial. I will handle misdemeanor cases, conduct preliminary examinations in felony cases, and hear civil disputes with a commitment to upholding the law and guaranteeing fair hearings for all involved.

Protecting the vulnerable is a priority close to my heart. I am committed to issuing emergency protective orders to shield victims from further harm and provide necessary support to those in need.

I also recognize the importance of an efficient judicial system. My efforts will be aimed at streamlining court proceedings, enhancing transparency, and maintaining an open legal system for the benefit of all.

Justice, Efficiency, Community: Vote for a Better Tomorrow!

Understanding My Commitment:
Your Questions Answered

Through this series of FAQs, I aim to address some of the most pressing concerns you've shared with me during my campaign. These questions reflect a shared desire for a judicial system that is accessible, impartial, and effective.

My responses below outline the strategies and principles I plan to implement if elected. These are not just ideas; they are a pledge to you, the heart of Kanawha County, to work tirelessly to enhance our legal system and ensure justice for all.

Ensuring an efficient handling of misdemeanor cases is important.  I plan to do that by helping to integrate modern technology where it can assist, especially when it comes to speeding up the processing of cases. I’m interested in reducing the wait times for not only the accused and the victims, but also the law enforcement officers that are often required to attend court on scheduled days off.

I will also promote mediation to help resolve cases when possible, reducing the burden on the court. With better communication between the defense, prosecution, and the court, we can collectively expedite proceedings.

Another way we can assist with this is to educate our community on legal processes and encourage early resolutions to prevent unnecessary appearances. It’s also important to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure that cases are thoroughly prepared before appearing in court.

It’s important to continually assess the efficacy of the court’s methods and procedures and make necessary adjustments to improve the legal system.  By implementing these strategies, we can expedite cases, reducing backlogs and ensure that justice is served swiftly for the residents of Kanawha County.
